Required material

For all our standard courses you must buy a textbook and accompanying exercise books. The same books cover a whole level B1. The cost of books is not included in the course fee.

B1.1 + B1.2 + B1.3: Book Edito B1, édition 2023 (ISBN 9782278108541). Cahier d’activités Edito B1 (ISBN 9782278108527): not required, to be discussed with the teacher.

About the bookstore 

Boekhandel Bijleveld is an independent bookstore since 1865 located at Janskerkhof 7, in the heart of the historic center of Utrecht. The bookstore carries an extensive selection of Dutch and English-language fiction and has a compact section of French and German literature. The bookstore also pays much attention to history, philosophy, current affairs, nature and science, art, literature about literature, poetry and the better children’s books.

These courses are intended for beginners who have never learned French or who master the basics. If you are unsure of your level, please contact the course coordinator before registering: cursus.utrecht@afpb.nl

Our courses are taught entirely in French for optimal learning experience. 

Our teachers are native French. Please note that not all our teachers speak Dutch (but all speak English).

Two sessions a year.

  • Our courses take place at Pieterskerkhof 5, Utrecht.
  • Note: there is a staircase to get to the halls.
  • If the number of students is too large, the courses can be held in the Stedelijk Gymnasium.

We have adjusted the price of our courses to better reward our teachers and take inflation into account.
