Discover how much fun it is to learn French with our scavenger hunt! During this interactive activity you will get to know the city of Utrecht better and learn French in the meantime! With each task, you’ll get a puzzle with hints to solve together and practice your reading and speaking skills. Don’t panic if you don’t manage to solve a puzzle in one go! You can then just continue the scavenger hunt.
There are two levels to do the scavenger hunt in: A2 and C1 level. The scavenger hunt takes about 1 hour and 45 minutes.
Learning French has never been such an experience!
The A2 level scavenger hunt builds on the material from the courses, such as giving (route) descriptions, making comparisons, numbers, etc. You also learn a lot of new vocabulary along the way. The treasure hunt puzzles can be solved by using your French knowledge. Many clues are a nod to Francophone culture.
During the treasure hunt at C1 level, you will take a true journey through time. You go through the old streets of Utrecht and rediscover the history of Utrecht; all while practicing your French! You will search for a mysterious lost object, relive various historical events and come face to face with the most prominent figures of Utrecht’s history.
Practical information
The scavenger hunt costs €10 .
Please transfer this amount to us 3 days before the activity, that way
we can send you the PDF file in time.
After payment you will receive an email with the PDF file to print out and to start the
scavenger hunt. You can choose one of two formats to do the scavenger hunt :
Booklet format
The booklet format is convenient to take yourself on the road! You can fold it and the solutions of the puzzles are easy to write down in the booklet. How it works.
1) First you will receive the PDF file via email.
2) Then print the document double-sided on portrait orientation.
3) Using the dotted line, cut the document in half (Not in quarters).
4) Layer the pages in number order and fold in half.
5) Finally, staple the pages together and voila, your booklet is finished. Time to explore the city!
PDF format
This file format is ideal if you want to follow the city tour on your phone. For this
just download the PDF file sent to your email. Good luck and have fun! It is necessary to have an (online) notepad handy to write down notes and answers.
