General information

I also speak French! Is a program for children between 6 and 12 years old. Everyone is welcome to participate and no prior knowledge of French is necessary. In fact, the teachers also speak Dutch (sometimes Arabic, Berber etc.). The goal of the program is to interactively introduce children to the French language. At the same time, the children also learn a lot about their own culture and about multilingualism. This program is set up by the Institut Français NL and the Alliance Française Utrecht.

Goal of the program

Demonstrate the importance and added value of multilingualism to the children and allow them to discover their talent to learn languages.
To give the cultural diversity of the children a central place during the lessons.
To make the children discover the French language and culture in a multilingual and multicultural environment and in a creative and playful way. This is done using different cultures and also in the languages the children already speak themselves (Dutch, Arabic, Berber, etc.).
Creating a multicultural environment in which the children feel confident and at home and also have a fun and educational afternoon!

During the I also speak French program, the children learn French during different workshops. In these workshops they will do crafts, cooking or other creative and sports activities. Meanwhile, they are introduced to the French language, but they are also allowed to speak in the languages they already know themselves.

Location, duration and cost

Chaque atelier dure sept semaines, à raison d’un cours par semaine à chaque fois. Le premier atelier commence la première semaine de novembre (du vendredi 8 novembre au vendredi 20 décembre) et le deuxième atelier commence au début de la nouvelle année (du vendredi 10 janvier au vendredi 21 février). Vous pouvez toujours vous inscrire par atelier.

Nouvelle session : 10, 17, 24, 31 janvier + 7, 14, 21 février 2025.

A la fin de chaque atelier, les parents et amis des enfants sont invités à venir voir le projet final des enfants. Il peut s’agir d’une pièce de théâtre, d’un plat qu’ils ont appris à cuisiner ou d’une interview réalisée à la maison.

Les ateliers sont gratuits !

Vous pouvez inscrire votre enfant au bas de cette page web. Il est important de mentionner le nom et l’année de naissance de votre enfant.

Les cours ont lieu tous les vendredis après-midi, de 16h30 à 18h00, au centre de quartier Hart van Hooggraven.
