Daar vinden we een vertraagd Parijs, dat de tijd neemt om een ander facet van zijn complexe, haast tegenstrijdige, werkelijkheid te laten zien. Met zijn negen sluizen straalt het kanaal een onweerstaanbare charme uit. De schaduwrijke oevers zijn ideaal voor een romantisch intermezzo, weg van alle drukte.
